Brain function declines steadily from middle age onwards, and this decline can be monitored with self-tests. By doing brain function tests, you might predict a dementia problem as much as 20 years before it seriously affects your lifestyle. With this sort of highly sensitive early diagnosis you and your loved one have time to research the many treatment options that are available, consult a wide variety of health professionals, and make lifestyle changes. Best of all, not just your brain, but your whole body will be functioning better

Test 1: SAGE: a popular, proven, and highly sensitive test to detect even the earliest stages of Alzheimer's and Dementia
The test is relatively quick and easy to do. It was developed by Dr Douglas Scharre at Ohio State University starting in the 1990’s, and has gained a lot of respect during it’s 25 years of existence. Dr Scharre states:
“When I was seeing patients with cognitive disorders, they would come in that first visit and explain situations that happened three or four years ago. How does it take you three or four years to get to a physician? -You’re missing the critical time period for treatment!”
The SAGE test is scientifically proven to detect and monitor cognitive decline from the earliest stages, sometimes as much as five to 8 years before you are no longer able to look after yourself. This makes it an ideal test to run on a 6-month basis to monitor your progress, and to check the effectiveness of any treatments and lifestyle interventions that you’ve made.
Important:
When sitting the test use the help of a spouse, younger relative or health professional, to help with the scoring and interpretation
Keep your test results on file.

Mainstream medical hostility to alternative health breakthroughs
Historically, mainstream medicine has been conservative and extremely hostile toward new understandings and ideas.
This was true for Dr Semelweiss who merely advocated washing hands in chlorine bleach prior to delivering babies (thus preventing puerperal fever and death of the mothers).
It was true for Dr John Snow who rightly diagnosed the source of a London cholera to be a public water pump (and thus saved many lives).
It is also true for the work of Dr Bredesen and like minded doctors
Dr. Bredesen’s version of an alternative health breakthrough
Dr. Bredesen advocated in a lecture in 2015 to find and eradicate:
“ereadicate 36 causes of dementia”,
“six principles of dementia reversal”, and
“25 principles of a holistic Alzheimer’s prevention program”
(Ref).
This is what the mainstream doctors don’t seem to like. Although I can’t see why. Can you (comments welcome).
(Note: I don’t slavishly support Dr Bredesen and no one else. There are many like-minded healthcare practitioners. He has merely been the most targeted new paradigm campaigner).
(Dr Bredesen answers his critics here. I think the comments are succinct and valid).
About Dr. Dale Bredesen and his research
This Cq test was developed by Dr Dale Bredesen. Dr. Dale Bredesen holds a position at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles and has been working on Alzheimer’s prevention since the 1990’s. He is now 71 years old and looks a lot younger. This is a good advert for his educational and careprovision approach to Alzheimer’s.

2022 Bredesen Protocol Clinical Trial Results
Answers I could find to critics who say Bredesen’s protocol is pricey and doesn’t work
(1) Dr Bredesen has provided a great deal of internet-searchable information for free, and his books at Amazon.com are not expensive
(2) Even a “pricey” Alzheimer’s prevention program is cheap in comparison to the costs of Alzheimer’s nursing and care.
“The total lifetime cost of care for a patient with dementia is estimated at US$412,936 in 2022, with 70% of those costs borne by the family caregivers in the form of unpaid caregiving and out-of-pocket expenses for items ranging from home health support to medications”. (Ref).
(Important - seek professional help and keep looking until you find it!…)
(If you want to build a quality house to live in, you might do it yourself but the outcomes will be slow to arrive and less than ideal - you should, therefore hire the appropriate tradies and professionals when you need to, and not build your house alone. In the same way, you shouldn’t go it alone with Alzheimer’s. You should consult experienced health professionals (dentists, genome experts, gut microbiome experts, household mould and allergy specialists, detox specialists, and a host of other 21st century medical professionals, including, but not limited to, your local GP - provided you can find a GP who is sympathetic to the required holistic health care approach - they do exist and they are becoming more common).
(3) Since a major Bredesen protocol study was reported in the Journal of Alzheimer’s on 31st May 2022, Bredesen’s critics are declining.
Here’s what happened:
Two years ago a Google search for the term: “Is the Bredesen Protocol legitimate?”
(For the period 13 Sep 2017 to 13 Sep 2021) revealed that:
Four of the top five results implied, “no it’s not legitimate”, while one said “yes it’s legitimate”.
Interestingly, all four naysayers quoted a Joanna Hellmuth article in the Journal Lancet Neurology, which I recently assessed and judged to be fraudulent (feel free to judge for yourself).
An up-to-date Google search for the term: “Is the Bredesen Protocol legitimate?”
This time for the period 13 Sep 2022 – 13 Sept 2023 revealed that:
four results agreed “yes, it’s legitimate”, and one (a dissatisfied Bredesen book reader) disagreed, “no, it might not be legitimate”.
So the tide is turning.
The more recent not legitimate claim (referenced above) was by a dissatisfied reader of Bredesen’s book and was unfair, since they failed to follow the book’s advice on causes such as “Mold, Lyme, [and] Mercury Poisoning”, and only focussed on the diet and lifestyle aspects.
However, they eventually did:-
“find competent healthcare practitioners who [had] studied and received their certification in…. …the specific underlying causes of dementia and Alzheimer's Disease (such as Mold, Lyme, Mercury Poisoning etc...)”
